LOTR Comics - Part Twenty-Two

Legolas is NOT a tree hugger.

Saruman Releases an Album, The Smell of Elves, and More's been a while since I last posted here. That should change. >.<

Learn more about characters from The Hobbit: Tauriel is a ruthless killer.

What's up with the LOTR cast? Christopher Lee released a heavy metal album on his birthday. Was Viggo Mortenson asked to play a role in The Hobbit?

Back to analalytical/interesting type articles: Where is the Edge of the Wild? What does Smaug look like?

And, finally, the media world. Go see a brand-new Witch-King toy. Or read what a fan has to say about Peter Jackson's films.

Actually, that wasn't the last. Last, but not least, read more answers for questions about the smell of elves.

It has been confirmed that pick-up filming began on Monday. Read about that on TORN here and here.

Are you new to this fandom or are just curious about some things? See some questions and answers dealing with matters such as the names of Nazgul and the clearing up of Frodo and Bilbo's relationship.

I have a few other interesting articles for you - one dealing with the Beacons, another with Hobbit tours, and one about Isildur.

Tolkien's The Fall of Arthur comes out today!

And last, but not least, another figure announcement has been announced by the Bridge Director.

Smaug's Size, Events, and Ringers on iTunes!

Back to posting! If you follow my main blog, you will realize that I've been away for a while because I've been sick. :-/

I'm going to go backward with the news-y type posts, just because it's easier to go from the bottom up in my mailbox.

Analytical articles: Who's the main character of LOTR? Quickbeam believe it's not Frodo...

Pick-up filming has begun! And so, of course, has the speculation. Could we see Aragorn? Could this be Smaug? And how big is Smaug going to be? There has been a call up for more casting extras.

Stuff for fans: Missed the DOS sneak peak? TORN has the transcript for it! Here's a T-shirt for you.

People, places, and events: A conference...Smaug and Cumberbatch...the death of a wizard...the showing of Tolkien manuscripts...a fantasy exhibit

And, last, but not least - Ringers on iTunes!

Thank you all for your patience as I recuperate. :)

Tolkien's Best Hits

We all love our Tolkien quotes, but have you ever read an article that had Tolkien's best quotes? No, I didn't think so. Here are a few that I enjoyed from Cliff Broadway's post on TORN (I didn't include the quotes that could have inspired the 60's hippie movement, but I enjoyed it very much, nonetheless):

Best exclamation of joy:
“Ass! Fool! Thrice worthy and beloved Barliman!”

Wittiest rejoinder:
Saruman- ”For I am Saruman the Wise, Saruman Ring-maker, Saruman of Many Colors!”
Gandalf- ”I liked white better.”

Spookiest moment:
Farmer Cotton found Frodo lying on his bed; he was clutching a white gem that hung on a chain about his neck and he seemed half in a dream. “It is gone forever,” he said, “and now all is dark and empty.”

Most wonderful hobbit irony:
Then there was Lobelia. …and there was such clapping and cheering when she appeared, leaning on Frodo’s arm but still clutching her umbrella, that she was quite touched, and drove away in tears. She had never in her life been popular before.

Next time I annually read The Lord of the Rings, should I make notes and make my own "best quotes" list? :)

Part Nineteen of LOTR Comics

Merry and Pippin meet Treebeard in the next LOTR comic from ashantiwolfrider. :)

Hobbit Characters' Names in Other Languages, Tolkien's books, LEGO, and More

Yes, yes, I know - I am getting pretty bad at posting on here daily. I promise I will try to get back to posting often again!

On the quest for more knowledge of Middle Earth, Tolkienites read everything that they can to try to find out the answers. But sometimes, the answers just don't seem to be there.

I was at Toys R Us the other day with my sister, and I saw the Hobbit Barrel Lego set. It looks SO cool. However, I just heard that supposedly there is a Lego Tower of Orthanc! Isn't that cool?!

J.W. reviews another Hobbit book, answers some LOTR-related questions, and gives a riddle of a month. :) (I love this guy, and not only because he wrote The Lord of the Films.)

We all know Tolkien is awesome - but have you ever heard of one of his books being the FIRST to go on a library shelf?

Okay, this is the coolest thing ever. Find out what several character's names in The Hobbit are in Spanish and Chinese!

And, last but not least, here is TORN's interview with Kate Madison, the producer of Born of Hope (still have yet to watch that - yes, I know it's terrible, isn't it?!)
