Movie Stuff Mondays - Emyn Muil

The Two Towers

Emyn Muil

Frodo has a dream about Gandalf before meeting Gollum and accepting him as a guide.

What the Big Folk Were Saying
"They're still barefoot." - a mom as the film begins
"That guy must have lost a lot of weight for his part." - a viewer who was unaware that Gollum is computer generated
"Someone tell that thing his comb-over isn't working." - a man, talking about Gollum

What the Wizards Know
Some of New Zealand's mountains are considered sacred, and the local tribes (which traditionally do not look at or photograph the peaks) were concerned about having the tops of these mountains in three blockbuster films. The filmmakers, therefore, agreed to replace these peaks with their own digital ones.

What the Elvish Eyes and Ears Have Noticed
The dialogue at the Bridge of Khazad-Dum has been edited slightly differently from the first apppearance in The Fellowship of the Ring. Most notably, in The Two Towers Frodo screams before Gandalf loses his grip, as opposed to the prequel where he screams after.

There are whip scars on Gollum's back, reminding us of his stay in Mordor.
